Embedded in a roadside rock between the vineyards and orchards and leaning on the slopes of the Mendel mountain chain, Fire Brigade Margreid is a unique cave public building designed by Brixen-based practice Bergmeisterwolf.

In terms of sustainability the fire brigade differentiates itself in two points from other projects: the positioning of the building and the overall energy concept. …build the fire station into the rock. … valuable ground has been saved and can be used for agriculture.
