Flat Refurbishment in Islington by Architecture For London

On a shoestring budget, a London young couple transformed a 35 sqm studio into a impressive one-bedroom apartment.

This listed crescent in Barnsbury, Islington was built in 1860, the small flat within this building was originally as a studio, was purchased by Ben and Susanne at auction.

Ben Ridley is a partner at Architecture for London and specialises in renovating period and historic buildings, he converted it into their first dwelling with a contemporary kitchen and carrara marble period style fireplaces.

Inspiration from architect:

The project reconfigures a first floor flat within a building that was converted from a house in the 1970′s. The flat was altered to provide an open plan kitchen in the living room, allowing the creation of an additional bedroom.
