Grunnfør bicycle shelter by 70°N arkitektur

As a part of National Tourist Routes Projects, the bike shelter provides space for visitors sheltered from the weather, and also have a panorama experience of the landscape.

Situated at Grunnfør in northern Lofoten with an open northwards view towards Vesterålen and the mountains in the south, this 32 sqm two-story building is built with steel construction and wooden bolts, bikes parked on the entrance, visitors can prepare food on floor level, or enjoying the 360° view through all-glass façade on the upper level.

Inspiration from architect:

Meditate upon your surroundings and encounter the environment. In the cyclist house at Grunnfør, Lofoten, you can contemplate the view and be in contact with the surrounding nature in a 360° panorama: an observation post in the landscape, barely visible but very present on the site.
