Prefab Treehouse Riga by Appleton & Domingos

Developed based on the Treehouse modular construction system, designed by Lisbon-based architect Appleton & Domingos for Portuguese modular house builder Jular, Treehouse Riga has been adapted for a new, more compact and flexible dwelling.

Just two modules of about 20 sqm each contain a living room with integrated kitchen and two small bedrooms.

Inspiration from architect:

It is based on Treehouse system but subverts it by creating a rigid typology. This change of concept was accompanied by a series of developments aiming at reducing production costs and sales – the change of the coating materials, the compactness and optimization of the plant, the change of frame system.
