Folding House and Studio 59 by Valerie Van Der Put

Maasmechelen-based architect Valerie Van Der Put had creat a amazing space for her architectural firm Studio 59.

Irregular facades with split-level interiors, no doors, the white walls contrasting with the brutalism of the concrete. I like Valerie said that sentence: When a place lets you feel peaceful and inspired, it is your dream home.

Inspiration from architect:

Folding the floors to form a split-level house is a choice that is based on the landscape. The natural slope gives a feeling of protection and creates a boundary between public and private space.

The asymmetric floor plan reinforces this concept by revealing a larger front and releasing a bigger garden in the back. It’s nice that people don’t know what they can expect from the outside.
