Manshausen Island Resort Hut
Situated in the Steigen Archipelago off the coast of Northern Norway, between the dramatic mountains and Barents Sea, Manshausen is an an adventure and exploration resort, created by Polar Explorer Børge Ousland.
Architects: Stinessen Arkitektur
Location: Steigen, Norway

The resort was planned and laid out in consideration of the Island topography and the two main existing structures – the old farmhouse and the stone quays.

Four cantilevered cabins are placed on the 1800s stone quays, partially hang above the sea, through the large glazing you can overlook the panoramic views.

The massive-wood construction is made in two layers, with the outer layer in larch which in time will turn naturally silver gray.
