Offshore is a set of wooden toys designed for the New Nordic Identity exibition at the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Denmark.
Permafrost, a Norwegian design agency, was asked to create one of 30 small ‘Nordic Dioramas’ for the exhibition. Permafrost´s contribution is a set of wooden toys depicting modern day industrial icons, while at the same time honouring traditional Nordic craftsmanship.
Permafrost was established in January 1st 2000 by Andreas Murray, Eivind Halseth, Oskar Johansen and Tore Vinje Brustad; four Norwegian industrial designers, all graduates and classmates from the Oslo School of Architecture, who share a mission to “maintain a signature of flawless functionality and iconic expression”. More than a decade of conceptual and inventive design has seen them cover everything from product design, furniture and interiors to graphic design and packaging.
