Located in the Kato-gun district of Hokkaido, next to an iron factory, the House of Trough is a two-story residence, its boxy exterior and minimalist interior contrasts with the environment.

Designed by Japanese architects Jun Igarashi for a young couple, the focus of the house is the central living zone with an 18.5-foot-high ceiling and lookout mezzanines of varying heights accessible by ladders or stairs.
