Located in the heart of Foz do Douro, an old town of Porto, the Flattered apartments is a mixture between small hotel and private apartment.
Interior designed by Portugal architect José Carlos Cruz and managed by Miguel, an animal sciences consultant from Lisbon.
The Apartment Flattered to be in Porto consist of five apartments that inserted into an old building, each apartment is enriched by the works of different young Portuguese Artists.
One of the things behind the project was flexibility to accept more than two people in each apartment. The apartments were all open spaces originally. They were loft-like apartments. The idea was to offer an extra bed without intruding into the space. We eventually settled on wooden boxes that are a little higher than the floor, with a drawer bed that is concealed underneath and can be pulled out.
