Situated on Cragg Path overlooking the North Sea, the Aldeburgh House is a beach house as summer retreat that remodelling from a Victorian house built in late 19th century.
London-based practice Azman Architects lined some walls with softwood panelling, with some retro bold colours furniture. Daylight is filtered through the new skylight positioned above the staircase to both floors and rooms.
Inspiration from architect:
We relocated and rebuilt the existing staircase and arranged rooms around it, which acted as an anchor in the house. We introduced gazed slits to all spaces that did not directly benefit from the view.
