The ‘Ten Thousand Waves (万重浪)’ is a 9-screen installation by British artist Isaac Julien in 2010. This film and photography shot on location in China, features Maggie Cheung as the Mazu according to 16th-century legend.
Inspiration from artist:
The work poetically weaves together stories linking China’s ancient past and present. Through an architectural installation, the work explores the movement of people across countries and continents and meditates on unfinished journeys.
