Situated at a narrow street in Gamla stan, the old town of Stockholm, the Villa Trångsund is a two-storey brick house converted from a 60´s villa.
An extension towards the garden and on the top of the roofs was added to the existing building. A roof terrace with sea views and evening sun.
Inspiration from architect:
The priority in this project was the choice of space, natural daylight and simple, but durable materials, such as brick-built plastered walls, concrete floors…
New big windows were added and the old windows were just bricked up. Both the old brick walls and the new walls in light weight concrete was plastered with a dark grey thin cast, giving the villa a totally new look yet reveal the lines of the old brick house.
