Ty Hedfan by Featherstone Young
Perched above a river in a small village near Brecon Beacons National Park, Ty hedfan is a contemporary holiday house with stunning cantilevered living room, overlooking the beautiful views of river deep in the Welsh forest valley.
Architects: Featherstone Young
Location: Brecon, Wales

The design uses a dry-stone wall as the knuckle between the rectangular form of the main house and the bedroom wing, which is buried into the hillside under a green sedum roof.

Inspiration from architect:
Ty Hedfan meaning ‘hovering house’, is an exploration of the practice’s interest in highly site specific and contextual architecture which takes its cue from the traditional Welsh long house form and the topographical constraints of the site.

Designed and owned by a couple of London architects, Sarah Featherstone and Jeremy Young. Ty Hedfan is available for holiday rental, contact here >>
