João Morgado sent us the SilverWoodHouse, an fascinating project designed by young Portuguese architect Ernesto Pereira, located on a port city of Mindelo in the North of Portugal.
As his first big project, Pereira has transformed an old beach house into a luxurious modern villa for a couple, without any budget limit or deadline.
Those diagonally timber slatted are the greatest feature of the whole house, it widely used in facade, floor, stairs, and even the swimming pool’s stepping platforms. By contrast, the crisp white walls rendering both outside and inside.
Inspiration from architect:
the remodelling work was one of a soulless house of typical construction, interior distribution and rural exterior interpretation. I decided to bring the beach to my clients so that they could feel, every day, the proximity of the dunes, sand and untreated wood.
