San Francisco-based architecture firm Turnbull Griffin Haesloop had created three Sea Ranch residence in California, three vacation house overlooking the dramatic coastal view of the Pacific Ocean, and surrounding by mature evergreen trees.
Inspiration from architect:
Our solution starts with a vernacular barn form and carves away to shape an exterior octagonal deck that opens to the meadow and the view. A continuous band of windows and doors follow the outline of the cutout to capture the panoramic views. Cedar ceilings and sheetrock walls create a clean minimalist interior (Sea Ranch Residence #1)
Located at the southern end of The Sea Ranch on a narrow lot with adjacent neighbors, a private sanctuary (Sea Ranch Residence #2) was created within the developed landscape of The Sea Ranch.
Nestled beneath a row of cypress trees, the L-shape house (Sea Ranch Residence #3) creates a wind protected outdoor room within the larger landscape.
