Napa Weekend House by Jim Jennings
Situated in the north-facing slope of the highest hill of Napa Valley, this weekend house is a steel-sheathed barn designed by architect Jim Jennings 15 years ago.
Designer Erin Martin had updated its interiors and terraces for the new owner, a couple who reside near San Francisco and spend weekends at the house with thier two children.

Inspired by the property’s tranquil rural setting, the Jennings’s original building was a very straightforward but elegant rectangular house built by simple industrial materials—corrugated steel walls and steel decking— rendered it with clean, simple lines, balance, and symmetry, and blends with its natural landscape, neighboring vineyards and farms.
Surrounding by open countryside native trees and shrubs, the modern pool house opens up to its own secluded patio, Martin adds subtle palette of neutral colors for it.
