Situated a slope in Vitznau, Swiss architectural practice Lischer Partner has built a holiday home for clients who desire to live in a timber house.
However, its facade is a hard shell made of concrete which encases and protects the soft wooden core, the timber is visible from outside through the openings and recesses.
The massively framed fixed glass in larch emphasize the views of the different landscapes of Lake Lucerne.
Inspiration from architect:
The pronounced slope prompted us to design a massive structure, its wooden construction is a “house within a house”. The prefabricated wooden building was erected from box elements, then mounted the concrete facade single shell.
