El Mirador House by CC Arquitectos

Anchored on an edge of the valley of Valle de Brav, the El Mirador House is a rustic retreat consist of a half-buried house and a horse pavilion with a large reflecting pool. The design of the pavilion is articulated around vegetation, views and rustic finishes.

The structure is a combined system of steel and wood, and retaining walls are made of local stone, and railroad ties from old train tracks where recycled for the exterior cladding.

Many of the interior walls are clad in white oak that adds a touch of warmth to the spaces while remaining contemporary.

Inspiration from architect:

It was designed based on respecting the forest where it is located, maximize the location and orientation offered by the site to give the user a significant lake view in the region.
