Located between the cities of Böblingen and Sindelfingen, KITA is a mix use public building for a new urban district under development, which rebuilt from a former airfield in southern Germany.
KITA houses a daycare, a community center and a civil office, the cube facade covered by Serge Ferrari fabric with dandelions printing.
Inspiration from architect:
The individual groups of the daycare center located on the top three floors. The group rooms are organized in pairs in the 1st and 2nd floor. Outdoor terraces at each level allow a direct external reference. A printed screen spans the upper floors and emphasizes the solitary effect of the building. During this project, a passive house standard is sought.
